We love you already!
Our Sweet Rowan,
We have just begun the road to you! We don’t yet know your face, the sound of your voice, or your personality, but the day that we will know you, and that you will be in our arms, is what has us doing everything we can to make that happen. We have done background checks, finger prints, filled out loads of papers, sent things out to be signed and checked, ran errands and doctors appointments, and we are currently waiting to hear back from those background checks, so we can move forward with our home study (where they make sure we are a good family for you!). Your brother, Palmer, and sister, Quinn, have been excited in each step, praying for you, talking about you, and they Going along on doctor appointments. They both thought it was SO silly that I had to pee in a cup, as one of the checks to make sure I’m healthy. Palmer said “Mom! I can’t wait to tell sissy that you peed in a cup!” 😂 They love you Ro, and they talk about you all the time. Quinn takes off her clothes each day, and talks about how “these clothes will be sissy’s when I get bigger!” Some days articles of clothing are added to your drawer and your closet, waiting for the day that you can wear them.
The waiting and the unknowns have been the hardest part, but mostly because we know it means you are waiting with unknowns, too. It brings tears to my eyes, wishing I could hold you, rock you to sleep, and watch you grow right now. The next best thing thing your mama can do, is work hard to make sure I am doing everything I can for you. Paperwork, prayers, phone calls, anything!
We are praying that you have care givers that are over the moon with you! That love on you, and come when you cry. We pray that God would protect your heart, and that you would know you are so very loved. We are praying that we would be just what you need, and that God would pour His mercies over your adoption!
We are one month in, with many to go, but we are fighting, we are running, we are on our way! Ro, we love you so very much!!
Love,
Momma (Daddy, Palmer, and Quinn)
